Friends and Alumni of Sigma Chi Omega,

I’m Jack Greenspan, Tribune of the Sigma Chi Nu (formerly and futurely Omega) Associate Chapter at Northwestern. We all know that nobody likes to be the bearer of bad news — but being the bearer of great news? That’s a whole different story, and right now, I’m thrilled to share a lot of exciting updates in the world of our Sigma Chi chapter.

This associate chapter has now been active for 18 months. After the induction of our Spring pledge class, our total member count will be 37 brothers. This is a tremendous accomplishment for a group that began in 2025 with under a dozen brothers. The Northwestern Interfraternity Council has recognized our chapter’s hard work towards growth and community-building. Our Chapter was presented with the award for Emerging Chapter of the Year at this year’s Greek Week Banquet. We see this as a testament to our vision for the future and the Brotherhood we’ve built. It is rewarding to see that IFC leadership has taken notice of this vision.

Our chapter continues to be led by Curtis Roselle (Consul) and Asher Moss (Pro Consul and Quaestor).

Curtis has increased the chapter’s presence on the Interfraternity Council and formed relationships with members in the FSL, IFC, and Student Affairs offices. He is seen as a leader across campus and is an excellent representation of all that Sigma Chi has to offer. Asher has built a strong financial foundation for the chapter and introduced the White Cross Points initiative this past year to recognize Brothers who embody our Chapter’s values.

Nikolas Camacho and Ethan Meyer continue to serve and excel in their roles as Annotator and Risk Manager, respectively. Recruitment was led by Recruitment Chairs Bryce Snider, David Martinez, and Allen Gurvits, who have continued to drive significant membership growth throughout the school year.

Augustine Villalobos is leading his second class of Pledges through the Preparation for Brotherhood Program and also plays an active role in other parts of the chapter. He is a respected and admired leader among our Pledges. Isaac Speyer helms the Chapter’s scholarship efforts and administers the White Cross Points initiative. We are looking forward to awarding scholarships and awards in the coming weeks.

Finally, David Martinez and Matthew Austin have taken the lead on Philanthropy efforts. The chapter plans to host multiple philanthropy events throughout the remainder of the term. We encourage you to check our website for the most up-to-date information.

If you’re looking for ways to reconnect or give back to the chapter, I encourage you to reach out to me at [email protected]. We’re always looking for ways to keep our alumni brothers involved in all that we do.

Extraordinary Events

  • True North Leadership Training: Our brothers took part in a one-of-a-kind leadership training course at the Sigma Chi HQ, which emphasized a strengths-based approach to leadership and authentic masculinity.

  • Brotherhood Events: The chapter hosted multiple Brotherhood social events, where brothers were able to bring in special guests for a fun night of mingling and dancing. These events began with receptions in Evanston, followed by party buses that transported brothers and their dates to late-night venues in downtown Chicago.

  • SAGEfest: Many of our brothers helped with set up and tear-down for SAGEfest, an outdoor music performance event that raises money for the Northwest Center for Sexual Assault, and aims to promote conversations about sexual assault and consent within the Greek community. The event took place at the new Kahn Pavillion at the Norris Center Lawn and was a massive success!

  • (Upcoming) Philanthropy Spikeball Tournament: Our philanthropy chairs are hard at work on a Spikeball tournament on the beach. This will allow us to raise money for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation in an engaging way.

New Pledge Class

The Spring 2026 pledge class welcomed 9 incredible new brothers to the chapter. This was one of our best recruitment seasons, and all of the brothers truly had all hands on deck to bring in potential new members. Our spring pledge season was especially important because it brought us over the 35-member mark, which clears a significant hurdle in getting officially installed as a chapter. The pledge class was made up of 6 freshmen, 2 sophomores, and 1 junior.

Magister Augustine Villalobos reads from The Norman Shield to the Spring pledge class.

Chapter House Updates

Work on the century-old Sigma Chi Chapter house will be wrapping up before the 2026-2027 school year. We have been making great strides in this process thanks to our chapter leaders and our alumni Home Association, led by Kent Bracken. By this summer, we expect to take possession of the house for meetings, recruitment, brotherhood events, and Homecoming. Our brothers have been able to tour the house, and some brothers have plans to live in the house during the 2026-2027 school year.

In short, the brothers of Sigma Chi have been moving fast to grow our chapter membership and establish our presence at Northwestern.

Alumni, if you’re interested in learning more about our Chapter’s progress, don’t hesitate to send me an email!

Turning an associate chapter into a fully chartered Sigma Chi chapter is a process that is both time-consuming and financially costly. We always appreciate alumni wishing to give back to the chapter financially as we work to grow our operations.

In hoc,
Jack Greenspan, Sigma Chi Nu Alumni Tribune
